John P. Balser, Ph.D.
John P. Balser, Ph.D. serves as the President of Veristat, Inc., and is responsible for data management, statistical analysis and strategic consulting. Before co-founding Veristat, Dr. Balser served as Vice President, Biostatistics and Data Management at Medical & Technical Research Associates, Inc. (MTRA), where he held responsibility for production of quality-assured clinical databases, statistical reports and NDA/BLA documents, while also establishing operational procedures and management structure for this contract research organization.
Before joining MTRA, Dr. Balser was the Manager of Biostatistics at Miles, Inc. (currently Bayer Corporation), where he supported clinical studies in all of the company's indications, including anti-infective, cardiovascular, metabolic and neurovascular.
Dr. Balser began his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1981 at E.R. Squibb & Sons, Inc. as a senior research statistician. He holds a BS in mathematics from Holy Cross College and an MS and Ph.D. in statistics from Cornell University.
